Steam System Upgrade

Project Scope

CR Meyer provided shop fabricated pipe spools for a steam system upgrade for a customer in the Pulp and Paper Industry.   Our customer had a project to swap out all of the rotary steam joints on an existing paper machine to a different style joint.  There are 59 total dryer cans on the existing machine.  The steam inlet and condensate outlet flange locations were going to be different than what was installed and running currently.  We used our laser tracker to measure the field installed piping locations.  We then used our 3D CAD software to draw the new pipe spools so they would hook up to the new locations of the inlet and outlet flanges.  We did this all without including any field welds.  The duration of the outage was 3 days.  CR Meyer was done on time with the field install due to our extensive effort into laser measuring and fabricating as far as we could.
